FAQ - Frequently Asked
Questions
Do the language clubs shown offer classes or
teaching?
The simple answer is no - but some organise conversation
evenings. If you are looking for a teacher, please first try searching on the
internet; if after searching you have no luck you are very welcome to get in
touch with the appropriate language club here to ask if anyone knows of a
teacher.
What do the clubs offer, if they don't offer teaching or
classes?
The clubs offer events in the particular language at which
people can practise their existing language knowledge through listening and
talking. The programme content varies between each club or group, but there is
generally a calendar of talks, slide shows, quizzes etc. presented in the
particular language, and some offer conversation evenings and other social
events.
Why do you not show a contact
email address for enquiries but have an online form instead?
This is
to minimise the amount of junk emails (spam) we receive. Displaying an email
address on a website makes it very easy for spamming software to note the email
address and forward it to mass-mailing lists. The form turns the details you
enter into an email which is then sent to us when you click the "Submit" button
on the form, and we can then reply to this via email.
